Scholarships
The Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Studies has several scholarship
funds for Jewish Studies students at the University of Maryland
who wish to study abroad. Most of these funds are earmarked
for students who spend a semester or a year at an Israeli
university. Students typically apply in March for scholarships for
the following academic year andreceive notification
in April. Students applying in the fall for study abroad
the next spring can still apply for scholarships in the
fall. In addition to their application form, students must provide a transcript and an essay explaining how their chosen study program will benefit their undergraduate studies. Priority is given to Jewish Studies majors, but other students
are eligible as well.
For the Summer of 2009, students are especially encouraged to enroll in the JWST 419I Jerusalem Through the Ages (taught in Israel), and a select group of students will receive funding as I & B Gudelsky Scholars.
The 2009-2010 application for funds is now available. For further information, contact the Center's
Coordinator in room 0142 Holzapfel Hall, 301.405.4975 or email
us.
Graduate Students in Jewish Studies may also apply for scholarship money in support of their academic program.
