By Car

From Baltimore
Take I-95 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495)
Take Exit 27 and then follow signs to Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park)
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1
Turn right onto Campus Drive and proceed through Main Gate

From Virginia
Take I-95 North to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495)
Continue North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park)
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1
Turn right onto Campus Drive and proceed through Main gate

The University of Maryland is located near three major airports. Super Shuttle serves all three airports. When traffic is heavy, driving time can be longer than the estimated times.

• Reagan Washington National (DCA) Located in Arlington, Virginia, about 15 miles south of College Park. About 40 minutes to reach campus. (Taxi is about $40)

• Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Located near Baltimore, about 25 miles north of College Park. About 35 minutes to reach campus. (Taxi is about $35.00)

• Washington Dulles (IAD).Located near Herndon, Virginia, about 35 miles southwest of College Park. About one hour to reach College Park. (Taxi about $55.00)

Where to Park

Visitors must park in visitor parking spaces. The parking spaces nearest The Meyerhoff Center are in the Union Lane Garage. To get to this garage, enter the University through the Main Gate off of Baltimore Blvd. When you enter the campus, you will be on Campus Drive. Follow Campus Drive until you reach a traffic circle with a big letter "M." Go half way around the circle and continue on Campus Drive. Go to the top of the hill. On your right, you will see the Stamp Union Building. Pass this building and turn right on Union Lane. Immediately to your left is the entrance to the visitor parking lot. Hours of operation are 7:00a.m. to 1:45a.m., seven days a week. Current rates at this facility are $2.00 per hour, with an $10.00 per day maximum. Payment is cash only (you may need some quarters).

On Sundays there is also free parking in Lot 1 (continue west of the Student Union along campus drive, past Cole Field House) and in Parking Garage 2 (PG2 meters are in effect, but spots in lot B are free after hours). There are other options; please read the signs to be sure you can park where you choose to park.

How to Walk to Holzapfel Hall from the Parking Garage  

If you parked in the garage on Union Lane, walk back to the traffic circle with the big "M." Turn right onto Regents Drive. You will pass a building called Symons Hall. When you pass Symons Hall, immediately turn right. The second building on your right is Holzapfel Hall.

How to Walk to McKeldin Library from the Parking Garage  

With Stamp Union on your left, cross Campus Drive and get on to Library Drive.Keep to your left and take the steps leading you to a large grassy area. McKeldin Library is on your right.

How to Walk from the parking garage to Art-Sociology

If parking in the Union Lane Garage return to Campus Drive, and turn right (away from the Circle). Follow Campus Drive as it loops to the Left. Art Sociology will be on the Right, at the junction of Campus Drive and Preinkert Drive
